Sassari, drug emergency in the historic center: exasperated residents

Syringes, blood and feces: the drug emergency continues in Sassari's historic center, to the exasperation of residents.

"Every day," one of them reports, "we find the remains left by those who shoot up." Between Archivolto Biddau, via San Cristoforo and via Tziu Cesare, there are countless legacies, often organic, that the waste collector has to clean every day. "The other day we swept and cleaned too, but it's disgusting."

Meanwhile, residents complain that, despite the recent police blitz in Sassari Vecchia, drug dealing continues. "The worst thing, however," some say, "is the constant clashes between drug addicts and dealers, with the former begging for a dose that, due to lack of money, is denied, even with beatings."

The days and especially the nights are marked by screams and cries that continue until the early hours of the morning forcing those who live in the area to stay awake.
