The unrest among doctors and healthcare managers at the AOU of Sassari continues. The unions met yesterday with the prefect of Sassari, Grazia La Fauci, complaining about the lack of performance-related pay for the last three years and the unilateral cancellation of excess hours worked, including those accumulated during the pandemic years.
The meeting was scheduled as part of the dispute resolution process. Regarding the first complaint, the trade unions reported in a joint statement, they once again requested that the Board of Auditors be present at the prefect's meeting. Regarding the failure to recognize the amounts accrued during overtime, the company's management announced that it will submit a conciliatory proposal to the trade unions, who, however, note in the statement that no "satisfactory responses" have emerged in the meantime.
The unions, also at the prefect's urging, decided to suspend the procedure, considering that the proposal to convene the Board of Auditors to resolve the disputes over the certification of the funds was accepted.
"Aware that a solution at this stage seems difficult, we hope for a concrete outcome," the statement concludes. "If, unfortunately, this conciliation attempt fails, we will unfortunately be forced to activate the protest procedures foreseen, including a strike by medical and healthcare management workers. The unions are Aaroi-Emac, Cimo-Fesmed, Anaao Assomed, Fassid, Fp Cgil Medici e Dirigenti Ssn, Cisl Medici, Uil Fpl Medici, and Fvm Smi."
