Sassari, crash into guardrail on former Highway 131: one victim

A fatal accident occurred today around 12:30 p.m. in the Sassari area, on the former 131 highway at km 222, near Monte d'Accoddi . A fifty-one-year-old man lost his life after he, while driving his car, crashed into the guardrail near the intersection with the Ponte Secco local road.
A violent impact left Emanuele Sorci, a former Vinyls worker born in Alghero and living in Porto Torres, with no chance of survival. The crash completely tore away the guardrail.
Rescued while still conscious, Sorci later died at the Santissima Annunziata Hospital, undergoing surgery to treat the serious injuries he sustained in the crash. Emergency services, the Sassari local police, and the fire department responded to the scene and secured the road.
