A 38-year-old man from Sassari was convicted of domestic abuse following a fast-track trial. The defendants were his wife and two young daughters, who, according to the charges, had been subjected to the man's abusive behavior, with the girls acting as witnesses.

The man, suffering from extreme mental distress, engaged in paranoid behavior, such as checking under the bed or in the closet for his wife's alleged lovers . He also claimed to hear voices that only he could hear. He had installed cameras in the bedroom to monitor his wife's alleged affairs , convinced that she had begun having affairs with colleagues.

Furthermore, according to the prosecution, he threatened and insulted her in public and, after their cohabitation, he stalked her and sent her messages with "delirious" content .

Prosecutor Elisa Succu had requested a sentence of 3 years and 6 months, while preliminary hearing judge Gian Paolo Piana handed down a two-year sentence and an immediately enforceable provisional sentence . The defendant was represented by attorney Maurizio Serra, while lawyer Alessandra Delrio represented the injured parties.
