Sassari, anti-drug raid in the historic center: arrests and searches

Carabinieri officers conducted a major operation in the historic center of Sassari . The operation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the Sassari Company, began at 3:30 this morning, supported by the Cacciatori di Sardegna (Cacciatori di Sardegna) unit, helicopters from Cagliari, and the fire department. Around twenty arrests were made by Carabinieri officers in the areas involved in the operation, dubbed "Replay." Several non-EU citizens, as well as Italians, were arrested.
The operation took place on Via San Donato, in the square below, on Via delle Muraglie and Via La Marmora, as well as at the Corso Vittorio Emanuele garrison, which was blocked to traffic for about an hour. There were reportedly 45 search warrants and just over 15 precautionary detention orders. The Carabinieri's activities are linked to drug dealing , which, as is well known, has one of its headquarters in this part of Sassari Vecchia. The investigation is being led by prosecutors Giovanni Porcheddu and Giovanni Dore, who directed the operations this morning.
