The Council has given the green light to the non-subjection (Environmental Impact Assessment Route) relating to the works to complete the new Sassari-Alghero (1st lot), in the section of the Alghero ring road to be connected to the south of the city with the routes to Bosa (SP 105) and to Villanova Monteleone (SS 292) and to the north with the new hospital in the Taulera region in the territory of the Municipality of Alghero.
The executive, on the proposal of the Councilor for Environmental Protection Rosanna Laconi, approved the resolution that effectively allows work to proceed on that stretch, with the aim of avoiding a further extension of the procedural deadlines.
"The work on the Sassari-Alghero - explains the councilor for Public Works Antonio Piu - has already suffered too many stops and slowdowns. The five years that preceded us in the regional administration were a long silent nothing done, for this reason the further step of non-subjection to the Via by the Department of the Environment for the first lot is good news because it allows us to proceed quickly towards the realization of a work that we unblocked immediately after the installation of this Council and that has been awaited for too long".
The Department of the Environment concluded the investigation with a proposal not to submit the project to the further procedure of VIA, Environmental Impact Assessment, subordinating the decision to compliance with environmental requirements, to be implemented in the various phases of approval of the project variant, completion of the works and operation of the infrastructure.
