A car dealership on Viale Porto Torres in Sassari was hit overnight . The alarm was raised shortly after 3:30 a.m., when a passerby noticed the first flames coming from a car on display and immediately alerted emergency services.

Firefighters arrived on site but, despite their prompt intervention, were unable to stop the blaze before it engulfed nine of the dealer's vehicles.

Supported by additional equipment, firefighters worked for about two hours before completely putting out the flames and securing the area.

The Carabinieri were also present to carry out checks, the fire was probably started deliberately.
