A flood that comes from below. In the cellars of Via Emilia in Sassari the water reached to cover the floor for over 40 cm .

"It's the eighth time it's happened," explains Susanna Spano, a resident, "and in a strange way, coming up from underground." The pressure breaks the tiles and makes the water come out like a gush. "It happens," hypothesizes Marco, another resident, "because the pipes break and can't handle the pressure ."

The cellar scene is impressive, with humidity eating away at the walls, cracking the floor as well as the goods contained in the various garages now rendered unusable. And now the fear is great. "The walls are collapsing - adds Marco - because the humidity continues to rise."

"We had an appraisal done," remarks Antonello, who also lives on Via Emilia, "and the damage was quantified at 30 thousand euros ." It is impossible to predict the next flood, which the residents are trying to limit with two pumps purchased that divert the water toward the sewers. But sometimes the pressure makes even this solution futile.
