An experimental bus service for AOU employees and all residents was inaugurated today in Sassari. The initiative was presented this morning at a press conference in the company's Palazzo Bompiani.

"This is an upgrade of line 25," explains Alessandro Zara, president of ATP, "which will connect the parking lots on Via Pirandello to the hospital area."

The group affected, from a numerical point of view, is thought to be around 850 people, company workers divided between 600 residents of the city and 250 from neighboring towns . "It's a first step in the reorganization of the parking system," says Mario Palermo, extraordinary commissioner of AOU. "We want to encourage alternative mobility."

The line also responds to union concerns about employee parking. "The connection," says Sassari Mayor Giuseppe Mascia, "helps the entire user community. We hope that the opening of the former gasometer will solve many mobility issues."

The new service covers morning and afternoon hours, coinciding with employee arrivals and departures.
