Giannangela Merella , the 83-year-old woman who was hit yesterday morning in Sassari , at the intersection between Via Amendola and Via Don Minzoni, has died.
The woman had been hit by a car driven by a young woman while crossing the street .
The elderly woman's violent impact with the asphalt caused her to be immediately admitted to the Santissima Annunziata hospital with a red code. After an initial CT scan, she suffered cardiac arrest on the way to the operating room and was admitted to intensive care.
Last night, around 11pm, he died from his injuries.
The 83-year-old's body is now in the Rizzeddu complex, and the Public Prosecutor's Office, led by PM Paolo Piras, has opened an investigation into the matter.
