Sassari: 93-year-old woman crashes car; rescue efforts fail.

Fatal accident this afternoon in Sassari.

According to initial reports, a 93-year-old woman lost control of the car she was driving—a Peugeot 108—on Via delle Magnolie, possibly due to illness , and crashed into a fence . It is currently unknown whether the woman died before or after the car impact. Emergency services, local police, and firefighters were on the scene. Rescue efforts were unsuccessful.

The victim, born in 1933, was originally from the Oristano area but resident in Sassari.
