Another case of poisonous mushroom poisoning . This time it was a " false field mushroom " that sent a 59-year-old woman from Sassari to hospital.

Agaricus xanthodermus is a mushroom very similar to common edible field mushrooms from which it differs due to its typical unpleasant odor which it gives off even during cooking .

After consuming poisonous mushrooms collected in the countryside for lunch, the woman began to feel the first symptoms affecting her gastrointestinal system, such as vomiting and nausea , which forced her to go to the emergency room of the Santissima Annunziata civil hospital in Sassari .

The Sassari Local Health Authority has established the Mycological Inspectorate service for local users which is located within the Prevention Department of the Sassari Local Health Authority and guarantees prevention, control and certification of the edibility of fresh mushrooms.

"Also pay attention to mushrooms that seem to be common and well-known species, as in this case", is the appeal of the Sassari local health authority.
