The alarm was raised shortly before six o'clock, when for reasons yet to be ascertained , a car went off the road and crashed into trees.

Medical personnel responded immediately, stabilizing the driver and transporting him, the sole occupant, to the emergency room.

The firefighters were also on site, securing the car and the accident area, and the Carabinieri were there to carry out surveys and manage the traffic.
