Sartiglia, the 65 age limit for knights falls and seats arrive in the stands

The rules for participating in the Sartiglia are changing. The Committee, accepting a request from the knights' association, has modified the regulation at the point where the maximum age of participants was established at 65 years.
In order to allow equal treatment for knights over sixty-five who wish to participate but have not registered by the established deadline, the knights' association has undertaken to reopen the terms for registration. As regards the request for modifications regarding the discipline of the relationships between the Sartiglia Committee and the drummers' and trumpeters' associations, everything has been postponed to a specific regulation that will be discussed between the parties.
The new regulation, which will have to be approved by the Board of Directors of the Oristano Foundation, therefore comes into force as of this edition of the Sartiglia.
On the sidelines of the Sartiglia Committee meeting , the topic of the positioning of the stands in via Mazzini was also addressed. A final decision will be communicated in the coming days following the latest checks underway by the technical manager of the Oristano Foundation. And on the stands, 1,452 seats with backrests purchased by the Foundation itself will appear . This is a significant increase compared to the 228 pre-existing seats.
"We are intervening to make the public's stay in the stands more comfortable", explains the president of the Oristano Foundation, Carlo Cuccu, "It is an additional service that we make available to spectators in consideration of the long duration of the Corsa alla Stella and the need to ensure a service increasingly in line with their expectations. At the moment the installation of seats is limited to the stands in via Duomo". While waiting to start selling tickets (online and at the ticket office in via Eleonora), the price list for tickets for the Corsa alla Stella has been released: Tribuna A numbered (in front of the Curia): 55 euros Tribuna B (Duomo): 40 euros Tribuna B numbered (Duomo): 50 euros Tribuna C (San Francesco): 30 euros Tribuna M (Delivery of the swords): 25 euros.
