Three possible scenarios in the governance of the Sardinian health companies : the appointment of twelve new general directors, the permanence until the expiry of the extraordinary commissioners in office , the return of the directors dismissed as a result of the reform rejected by the Constitutional Court .

For hours and days, politicians have been busy trying to decide which path is best. But one thing is certain: the regional president wants to stay on course and complete her plan to revamp the local health authorities. And so—sources at Campo Largo insist—it's highly likely that the next council meeting will be the right one to nominate the new managers. Negotiations to reach a consensus on the twelve candidates are difficult, particularly those between Alessandra Todde and the Democratic Party (PD), which, this time around, certainly doesn't want to lag behind the governor's party, the Five Star Movement.

The names

Today, despite all these premises that require caution, if the Executive were to decide to move forward, it is already possible to hypothesize who would govern what.

Tuscan Joseph Polimeni , whose name would be quite popular with the Democratic Party, could be appointed to the ASL 8, the largest and most important health authority in Sardinia (70 municipalities for 540,000 inhabitants), currently led by Commissioner Aldo Atzori. Paolo Tauro , whose area of responsibility is Five Star Movement, is also being considered for the ASL of Sassari: his position is dominated by the Five Star Movement. The Sassari University Health Authority could be joined by Antonio Cossu or Paolo Zappalà. For the ASL of Gallura, one candidate is Francesca Piras, currently Director General of Social Policies in the Department of Health. Angelo Maria Serusi is being considered for the ASL of Nuoro (again, the Democratic Party would approve). The Democrats could win four more positions: Oristano with Daniela Mulas, Ogliastra with Grazia Cattina, and Sulcis with Paolo Cannas. Atzori could move from the ASL of Cagliari (where he is currently Special Commissioner) to the ASL of Medio Campidano. For Brotzu and AoU Cagliari, rumors suggest two players have been confirmed: Maurizio Marcias for the former, and Vincenzo Serra for the latter.
