The privatization of Cagliari airport and the merger of the three Sardinian airports is progressing. This time with the approval of the Region, which has officially expressed its desire to become part of the holding company managing the airport system together with the F2i investment fund and the Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari and Oristano.

In recent days, governor Alessandra Todde sent a letter to the presidency of the chamber council to start the procedure. The regional administration could come into possession of a part of the shareholding currently attributed to the Sardinia Foundation. But for now it is only a hypothesis: the intention is certainly to enter the share capital of the future holding company.

The news was confirmed by the Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari and Oristano with a press release which specifies that «the methods and times for public participation in the holding are not yet known», but the operation «should be defined by the end of the year".
