A taste of summer is in store throughout Italy, particularly in Sardinia, where temperatures are expected to reach 32 degrees over the weekend, the highest ever recorded .
According to forecasts by Lorenzo Tedici of iLMeteo.it , starting tomorrow, Thursday 21 May, temperatures will rise everywhere and the freezing level will rise to 4,000 metres above sea level in the Western Alps, a value usually recorded in the month of July.
Thermometers will record temperatures 4-5 degrees above the seasonal average, and it will be a real escalation: on Friday, temperatures will reach 31 degrees Celsius in Oristano and peaks of 30 degrees in several parts of Italy. The heat will further consolidate over the weekend, when temperatures in Sardinia will reach 32 degrees .
Perfect temperatures for a day at the beach. And the good news is that the heat will be predominantly daytime, because at least until Sunday, nighttime temperatures, still pleasant and cool, will ensure a good night's sleep. But starting next week, the heat and humidity will begin to build up at night as well. And temperatures will continue to rise in what is a real foretaste of summer, brought by the African anticyclone. This phase will likely continue until June 2nd .
