Winds up to gale force in Sardinia, with rough to very rough seas and falling temperatures.
Mattia Gussoni, meteorologist at iLMeteo.it, is reporting a "significant strengthening of the wind" in various parts of Italy, particularly on the island, in the coming hours and at least until Tuesday: "The Mistral, a northwesterly wind known for being dry and sometimes stormy, will be felt. Gusts could exceed 60 km/h, especially in Sardinia and along the coasts of the central and lower Tyrrhenian Sea. These currents will also cause a significant drop in temperatures, especially in the south and on the two major islands."
For Monday, Arpas Sardegna forecasts partly cloudy skies except for local cloud cover and, as mentioned, falling temperatures and winds "up to gale force on exposed coasts and ridges", with
«very rough or choppy seas with possible storm surges along the northern coasts».
The regional Civil Protection Department has also issued a warning for adverse weather conditions , reporting: "Strong winds and storm surges in Sardinia: strong winds are expected from the west-northwest, with gale-force gusts. The exposed northern coasts will be subject to significant storm surges with heights of up to 4 meters."
