Just 21 days later, the marine weather nightmare repeats itself . Storm "Harry Bis" arrives: as happened on January 20-21, Sardinia, Sicily, and Calabria will once again be hit by gale-force winds, localized gusts, and violent storm surges.

Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist and media manager at iLMeteo.it, confirms the exceptional nature of the event: "This is the second time in 2026 with extraordinary sea and weather conditions. Three weeks ago, there was talk of a 50-year return period; in reality, it only took 21 days to have something similar to Harry, the storm of the century. In the open sea, we could record waves up to 9 meters high, especially in the Lower Tyrrhenian Sea."

Due to the violent Mistral and Ponente currents, the seas will hit the northern and western coasts of Sardinia , Tyrrhenian and western Sicily and Tyrrhenian Calabria.

On Friday the 13th we will have a respite with a significant improvement in sky conditions (less rain and clouds), but the marine weather situation will remain extreme: storm surges are still expected in the same areas and gale-force winds from the west.

Over the weekend, Tedici continues, "it will rain on the wet and it will be undulating on the rough": the seas will remain very rough or choppy , while the arrival of the San Valentino Cyclone (with a very low pressure up to 985 hPa) will bring widespread rain and a sharp drop in temperatures.
