«In 2024, feminicides on the island increased by 200% compared to the previous year» .

The alarm was raised by the Regional Guarantor for Childhood and Adolescence Carla Puligheddu who hopes for an "urgent intervention" by the regional institutions to stem this phenomenon of violence against girls, adolescents and all women of any age involved, against their will, in a spiral of endless violence.
"The trend - said the Guarantor - is constantly growing. In the last seven years on the island there have been 28 femicides and every year the number is always higher".
Alarming data also illustrated in the States General of childhood that took place in Sassari on 25 and 26 October.
The event, organized by the Regional Guarantor for Childhood and Adolescence to try to build together a vision of a better future starting from childhood, involved professionals, administrators, intellectuals, poets, writers, musicians, male and female students.
"Together - said Carla Puligheddu - we have confirmed the need for a cultural change contra a sa volèntzia a sas fèminas . This institutional, cultural and political project, unique in Sardinia, never realized before, must have the full support of everyone. The challenge of contrasting and preventing gender violence must be choral to be effective".

The Guarantor appeals to men and women, institutions, political parties: « It is time to move from the study of the phenomenon to the facts .
