Sardinia awarded 17 Blue Flags: Teulada is the newest addition.

The number of Sardinian beaches that can boast the Blue Flag has risen to 17, the prestigious recognition of the Foundation for Environmental Education , an international NGO based in Copenhagen, which annually awards seaside and lakeside resorts and tourist ports with the best water, environment and services. The Teulada coastline has joined the island's locations already included in the list this year.
Nationwide , 257 Italian municipalities have obtained the Blue Flag this year, 11 more than the 246 last year: 14 are new entries, 3 are municipalities that have not been confirmed.
The Blue Flags on the lakes have risen to 23, with the addition of one new lakeside municipality. A total of 87 awarded marinas have been added, with three new entries. Liguria remains the region with the most Blue Flags, with 35, followed by Puglia and Calabria, both with 27.
In addition to Teulada, the new 2026 Blue Flags are in Calabria: Amendolara (Cosenza), Montegiordano (Cosenza), Falerna (Catanzaro), and Locri (Reggio Calabria); in Emilia-Romagna: Rimini; in Liguria: Andora (Savona), and Taggia (Imperia); in Lombardy: Limone sul Garda (Brescia), the new lakeside municipality; in Puglia: Morciano di Leuca (Lecce), and Tricase (Lecce); in Sicily: Ispica (Ragusa), and Lipari (Messina); and in Tuscany: Monte Argentario (Grosseto).
San Felice Circeo (Latina), Patù (Lecce) and Castrignano del Capo (Lecce) have instead lost the Blue Flag.
The 257 Italian municipalities that have obtained the recognition, for a total of 525 beaches, correspond to approximately 11.6% of the beaches awarded worldwide.
