Two firefighter teams worked for hours to rescue a dog and a goat that became stranded at an altitude of 520 meters in the inaccessible area of the hamlet of Barrancu Mannu, near the archaeological site of the "Tomb of the Giants" in the municipality of Santadi.
The Carbonia Fire Brigade detachment team and a SAF (Alpine and Fluvial Speleological) team from the Cagliari Fire Brigade Headquarters operated on site, using special techniques and equipment to recover and finally deliver the two animals safe and sound to their owner.
The operation, as mentioned, lasted for several hours, and concluded in the early afternoon yesterday due to the inaccessible area, difficult to reach even with off-road vehicles.
