The magic of Christmas is renewed in Uta, with the lighting of the forty thousand lights of the Spanu house. In via Is Carrubeddas, also this year, Santa Claus's house comes to life, and its lights, which reproduce the North Pole, illuminate the town.

"I've been recreating the Christmas setting for eleven years, it's a dream I've had since I was a child," says Claudio Spanu, 41, who, together with his wife Teresina Mocci, 42, sets up his home for the holiday. "It takes me about a month to set up the lighting system, a demanding job and every year I add something."

The house, with its large courtyard, is a destination for many enthusiasts and curious people, who come here after 6 pm, when the lights are turned on, to admire the show, or to take photos and selfies. "I always start with a project that I develop during the year, then in November I begin the installation," says Claudio, the only one who continues this tradition in the village. The colors of the lights, white and blue, reproduce the polar landscape, with the animated Santa Claus appearing from the path. "I have participated in various regional competitions for Christmas installations, and a few years ago I even won a first prize, in others I ranked among the top positions, but ultimately it remains a passion of mine," concludes Spanu, immersed in the fairytale setting.
