The announcement for the 31st Gallura Poetry and Running Prize "Lungòni" has been published, concurrently with the approval of the resolution by the Municipality of Santa Teresa di Gallura regarding its organization, as has been the case since 1995.

It is one of the oldest festivals in Sardinia, and also the only one that crosses the border. Its aim is to promote and preserve the Gallura and Corsican languages, expressions of two communities as separate as they are united by the sea of the Strait of Bonifacio, which has not prevented kinship, social, cultural, and economic ties between the inhabitants of the two shores. The "Lungòni" was conceived by journalist Piero Bardanzellu, who has also served as its jury president.

The awards ceremony has already been scheduled for October 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele I, Santa Teresa Gallura. A second awards ceremony will be held in Corsica for the winners of the adult Gallura and running sections, on a date to be determined. The "Lungòni" Gallura and Running Poetry Award is open to all unpublished works, never published before or awarded in other competitions, and is open to any subject, whether rhyming or not. Participation in the award is free.

The competition is divided into two sections: one in the Gallura language and one in the Corsican language. Each section has four subsections: two for young people, the first for ages 6 to 10, and the second for ages 11 to 18; one for fourth- and fifth-grade elementary school students, both individually and in groups; and one for middle and high school students. Poems must be submitted exclusively by email to protocollo@pec.comunestg.it. The subject line of the email must be "LUNGÒNI POETRY AWARD 2026." Submissions must be received by 1:00 PM on June 12, 2026.
