In Santa Maria Coghinas, Carabinieri officers from the Valledoria company arrested a man in flagrante delicto, allegedly responsible for the crime of possession with intent to sell narcotics.

The Carabinieri were engaged in a targeted preventative operation during the festival celebrations between Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July when they noticed suspicious movements of the young man. Taking advantage of the influx of people, he was quickly approached by several people who then walked away after receiving doses of drugs.

Noticing the presence of the Carabinieri, he attempted to throw several packages to the ground. When recovered by the officers, they contained cocaine with a total gross weight of over 3 grams. Extensive searches of the man's home revealed a precision scale, €650 in cash, proceeds from drug sales, and an additional 17 pre-sorted doses weighing 6 grams, as well as two unpackaged packages containing cocaine, weighing 8 grams and 1 gram. All recovered material, cash, and the narcotics were seized, while the dealer was placed under house arrest, which was confirmed with an obligation to report to the police station.
