Sant'Efisio in Pula, the community's greeting: "Beni beniu a domu tua"
At "Su Rondò," parish priest Marcello Loi will pay homage in the Sardinian language. In the evening, the parish will arrive in Nora, where the moment of the martyrdom will be relived.The path of Saint Efisio has reached Pula . As always, the Saint received a warm welcome, with prayers, songs, the sound of launeddas performed by Maestro Orlando Mascia and his students, and an extraordinary "ramadura" (festooning) with aromatic herbs and rose petals.
Even the ox-drawn carts were present (the town is outside the protection zone established by the health authority). Upon arrival at "Su Rondò," the parish priest Marcello Loi greeted the pilgrims in Sardinian, "with the confidence we can reserve for our dearest friend. Welcome to your home."
Mayor Walter Cabasino accompanied the martyr, along with the archconfraternities of Sant'Efisio of Cagliari and Pula and the Pula committee dedicated to the powerful protector.
In the evening , after Mass celebrated in the parish church of San Giovanni Battista and the faithful's tribute, the pilgrims will arrive in Nora, where, tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, May 3, the moment of his martyrdom will be relived . Also tomorrow, at 11 a.m., a solemn Mass will be celebrated by the Archbishop of Cagliari, Giuseppe Baturi. The service will be broadcast live from 10:30 a.m. on Videolina , which, as always, will also cover the afternoon service on Nora beach.
