Discovered in 2002 and shrouded in mystery ever since , the so-called “ Tomb of the Egyptian ” continues to amaze with its beauty, unique in the Punic funerary world.

Located at the foot of the Sabaudo Fort, in the Punic necropolis of Sant'Antioco, the tomb takes its name from the colors and figures reminiscent of Egyptian influences, evoking a timeless allure.

This morning, Sant'Antioco Mayor Ignazio Locci had the honor of entering the site for the first time. "I had only seen it in photographs, and with some emotion, I admit that in person it's a unique, unimaginable spectacle," he wrote on social media. "Restoration and consolidation work on the hypogeum is currently underway, of which we are extremely proud. Over time, it will be accessible as part of the Necropolis tour."
