A suspicious package, hidden in the vegetation of Cala Sapone in Sant'Antioco, raised the alarm. With the intervention of the Carabinieri of the local station, with the support of a patrol boat and the anti-sabotage unit. Inside, 30 sticks of explosive quarry gelatin: extremely dangerous material, if not handled correctly, and potentially lethal in case of improper use.

The discovery was made this morning, with a report to the Carabinieri. They proceeded to isolate the area and secure it, with inspection and cleanup operations. The thirty canisters were detonated by the bomb disposal experts who arrived on site, in conditions of maximum safety .

The military is proceeding with further investigations, to clarify the origin of the explosive material and identify any responsible parties . The investigations are continuing: the judicial authority has been informed.
