Surprised during a night-time underwater fishing trip in the Is Pruinis area by agents of the Iglesias Forestry Corps of the Sant'Antioco naval base, a 70-year-old received a fine of 1,000 euros.

The man, from Sant'Antioco, was equipped with a rifle and a torch and had already caught five kilos of shellfish and fish, all of which were seized - and then donated to charity - together with the equipment.

In fact, underwater fishing activities can only be carried out during daylight hours.
