The Ascot Center in the Municipality of San Vito will continue operating in April. This special clinic, staffed by general practitioners, will provide care to patients left without a primary care physician. Only these patients—and not those who have since found another doctor in the Sarrabus area—will be able to visit the clinic. The clinic is located in the municipal building at Via Aldo Moro (the "new town hall"), at number 50.
Twelve days of opening are planned for the month of April, with both morning and afternoon hours . It starts today, April 2nd, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and then tomorrow, April 3rd, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The opening hours will continue intermittently until April 28th.
"Users," the San Vito municipal administration emphasized in a statement, "must present all their medical documentation, including a copy of their health card and a copy of their exemptions, to facilitate the work of the health professionals who will decide on the treatment plan."
The Muravera Continuity Care Service (formerly the emergency medical service) will provide care for these patients on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays for emergencies only. This extraordinary clinic, in short, addresses the chronic shortage of general practitioners in San Vito and throughout the Sarrabus area. However, residents are still waiting for a new doctor to be appointed.
