He's a friend to everyone, a confidant to many residents, especially during the winter when virtually no one passes through . And he often receives invitations to lunch or dinner. This is the story of Luca Cadoni, 45, from Riola Sardo: a postman by profession. He delivers mail year-round in the seaside villages of San Vero Milis. He knocks on the doors of the houses in S'Arena Scoada, Sa Rocca Tunda, Putzu Idu, and Sa Mesa Longa .

"I've been delivering to the villages along the San Vero coast since May 2022," says Luda Cadoni. "It's a delivery area where I'm more busy during the summer, especially with package deliveries, since the many tourists who arrive often take advantage of the tranquility of their holidays to make e-commerce purchases. From a naturalistic perspective, it's a beautiful area, to which I also have emotional ties: my father was a fisherman and had a hut, before they demolished it, right at Su Pallosu. Furthermore, since I was a child, I've frequented other areas of the coast, such as s'Arena Scoada, where my uncles had a house and where I spent many summers, and also Putzu Idu, a hub for summer evenings in my post-adolescent years. Finally, for a while, more recently, I rented a house during the winter: the tranquility is priceless, and the sea, in winter, has a special charm. In this area, I feel right at home."

Nicola admits that he greatly appreciates the contact with the public and the interaction with people about his job as a postman. "I enjoy interacting with people on a daily basis. The residents all know me, and many, over time, have even recognized me: some, in fact, have lived here for many years, ever since I frequented the villages as a child." As often happens in small towns and villages, a "confidential" relationship develops between the postman and the community's residents, also tied to the social role of the delivery person. "Many ask me if I want a coffee during my delivery rounds. I'm happy to stop, when work allows, and especially in winter, to chat with the customers. I'm pleased that they consider me a trustworthy person, someone to share something with. Some have grown deeply fond of me over the years: I think of the local restaurateurs, for example, who often say to me, 'I'll wait for you for lunch! Sesi cumbidau.'"
