Elegant and smiling, it was her celebration, after all. San Nicolò d'Arcidano has a new centenarian. On August 12th, Nemesia Muscas blew out 100 candles. A mass was celebrated for the occasion in the town's parish church. Her entire family and much of the town council were in attendance. But there were also many citizens fond of the town's grandmother.

The celebration for the centenarian, sister of former mayor Luigi Muscas, continued in the churchyard. Mayor Davide Fanari was also present for the occasion, presenting the centenarian with a bouquet of flowers. She was also presented with a commemorative plaque containing the community's best wishes and another with a copy of her birth certificate.
"It was an honor and a thrill to celebrate this important life milestone with our fellow citizen Nemesia Muscas: 100 years lived so extraordinarily, with a smile and a great zest for life," commented the mayor. "She has become a true symbol and example for our community. We extend our most sincere wishes for a long life to our beloved fellow citizen."

Nemesia Muscas is currently a resident at the San Nicolò d'Arcidano nursing home.
