Work on the installation of an agrivoltaic power plant proposed by a Trieste-based company in Santulussurgiu (Oristano), specifically in San Leonardo di Siete Fuentes , in the Montiferru area, will not be able to begin.

"The site is protected by landscape and cultural restrictions," states the Legal Intervention Group (GRIG), which filed a notice of opposition to the plant's construction on April 14. The Regional Environmental Assessment and Incidence Service upheld the environmental association's request, which noted that, given the planned power (19.847 MW), the project by the 'San Leonardo di Siete Fuentes' limited liability company should have been subjected to a prior and binding environmental impact assessment (EIA) review.

Without this, therefore, the construction site cannot begin. "Furthermore, the project not only has not been subjected to an environmental impact assessment (EIA), but it appears to have been proposed by an energy company and not by a farmer or agricultural entrepreneur , as required by Regional Law 20 of 2024. Nor is its suitability for conserving at least 80% of the gross energy produced certified, a requirement set out in Legislative Decree 190/2024, later amended by Law 4 of January 15th."
