A shocking accident occurred in San Gavino Monreale, where a driver tested positive for alcohol after a two-car collision.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of August 16 at the intersection between Via Trieste and Via Roma , when a Ford Fiesta driven by a 20-year-old from Furtei collided with a Fiat Croma driven by a 51-year-old local man.
Carabinieri from the Villacidro Mobile Radio Unit responded to the crash scene, conducted a survey and administered breathalyzer tests to both drivers. The 51-year-old had a blood alcohol level of 1.71 g/l, more than three times the legal limit.
The man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. His license was revoked, and the vehicle, already seized, was placed under confiscation proceedings.
