The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has approved a total funding of €2,664,000 for Sardinia. The funds come from the 2025 ranking of the "Road Investment Fund in Small Municipalities," a program specifically aimed at supporting urban centers with populations of fewer than 5,000.

The fund was designed to cover targeted and rapidly implemented interventions. Its primary objective is the safety and extraordinary maintenance of the minor road network , often overlooked but vital for connecting and ensuring the livability of smaller inland and peripheral communities.

The funds were distributed among the island's 18 municipal administrations, for a total of 20 funded projects. The geographical distribution encompasses several areas of Sardinia , many of which have long awaited funding to address critical issues with road surfaces and signage.

The beneficiary municipalities are Paulilatino, Nurachi, Zeddiani, Morgongiori, Pozzomaggiore, Bono, Ghilarza, Palmas Arborea, Musei, Sedilo, Torralba, Arborea, San Nicolò d'Arcidano, Segariu, Sadali, Berchidda, Modolo and Villasalto .

Thanks to these funds, small towns will be able to begin construction projects to repair potholes, consolidate at-risk road sections, and improve overall safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini expressed great satisfaction with the release of funding: "Road safety is a virtuous path that also includes safer roads and which must be pursued despite the unfavorable international context with the resulting increase in raw material prices," the minister declared.
