"None of my candidates have entered into negotiations with Gianni Addis in view of the runoff election; this is completely unlikely." Andrea Biancareddu (three-time regional councilor and former mayor of Tempio) has a clear stance on the Tempio municipal elections.
Biancareddu intervenes in these hours of meetings (even behind closed doors) and voting declarations, to clarify the position of her group (UniAmo Tempio, one of the civic groups excluded from the second round) with respect to the candidates in the runoff elections on June 21st and 22nd, Gianni Addis and Gianna Masu . Addis, the outgoing mayor, leads the civic group Tempio Tradizione e Futuro, while Masu is supported by the group Con Tempio Fronte Comune.
After a meeting, Biancareddu's team issued a statement: "The UniAmo Tempio group thanks the citizens who expressed their support, with a 23 percent preference vote. They will be represented on the City Council based on the values and goals they expressed during the election campaign. After presenting itself as an alternative to the outgoing administration," it explains, "and having always believed in renewal, UniAmo Tempio leaves each citizen the full freedom to express their preference in the runoff election. UniAmo Tempio is neither dissolving nor withdrawing. On the contrary, it will propose a healthy and constructive opposition with the two seats it won."
Biancareddu explains: "My supporters have shared the content of the statement; our position is clear. I can rule out any negotiations with candidate Gianni Addis ahead of the runoff."
Several UniAmo Tempio candidates are openly supporting Gianna Masu , some even publicly (Nicola Tondini, Nino Vargiu, and Francesco Tedde). Tedde declared today: "I find the content expressed by Gianna Masu and her candidates both acceptable and feasible."
