The Cagliari State Police arrested a man suspected of being the perpetrator of an armed robbery committed in a discount supermarket in Pirri.

The suspect – a 55-year-old – had burst into the store last November 14, with his face covered by a latex mask and armed with a pistol and a large dagger. Then, after threatening the staff, he had them hand over the takings, equal to approximately 2,300 euros, and fled.

After the alarm, the agents of the Flying Squad and the Flying Squad arrived on site, who collected the testimonies of those present and started the investigations.

Also thanks to the video surveillance images, the investigators first identified the car used by the man for the escape, with an altered license plate. Then the circle of the investigation closed, with a search of the suspect's home, resident in Sant'Antioco, where they found, in addition to the stolen money, also the clothes, the knife and the gun (which turned out to be a reproduction) used for the robbery.

The 55-year-old was thus arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and transferred to the Uta prison , at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
