Eight arrests, four reports, 970 people identified: these are the results released by the Cagliari police headquarters at the conclusion of the extraordinary plan to prevent and combat youth crime implemented by the Department of National Public Security. The plan, implemented in 44 Italian provinces between June 18 and July 15, led to the arrest of 539 people across Italy.

Specifically, six youths were arrested for robbery and attempted robbery, and two others for drug dealing. Four were charged with receiving stolen goods, assault, theft, and criminal damage. One minor was also placed in community care for assault and threats against a public official, resisting arrest, and serious personal injury, while another minor was charged with criminal damage.

In total, 970 people were identified and 81 vehicles were checked within the jurisdiction of the Cagliari police headquarters. Fifteen personal and house searches were carried out, four commercial establishments, fifteen homes, and four nightlife areas were inspected.

The operation was carried out by the Mobile Squad, in collaboration with the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, the Administrative and Social Police Division, the police stations of Quartu Sant'Elena, Carbonia, and Iglesias, and the Sardinia Crime Prevention Unit in Abbasanta.

"The services," the police explain, "were concentrated in the areas most affected by the presence of young people and petty crime, with particular attention to the city center and, in particular, the Marina district, the site of specific high-impact services."
