As always, it will be a breathless image to immortalize, and then post it on social media. In Riola Sardo, the traditional lavender harvest will begin in a few days in the enormous field that Elvio Sulas from Riola, son of local farmers, decided to plant in his own vineyard twenty years ago. Certainly not imagining that after years that would become the Sardinian Provence appreciated by many tourists and not only.

However, before the main event there will be many other events. On June 5th, the Oristano painter Eleonora Sanna promotes a workshop that will take place directly in the lavender field in bloom. The course is aimed at all those who are approaching the watercolor technique for the first time. The first lesson will be held from 9.30 to 11.

From the 7th to the 30th of June it will be possible to participate in sensory journeys, suitable for all those who want to discover curiosities and uses of lavender, admire its colors and breathe in its inebriating scent.

In July the traditional cutting: the 5th, 6th and 7th, from 9am to 1pm. Anyone will be able to witness firsthand the delicate process of flower picking, a fixed appointment which for years has been becoming one of the most requested tourist attractions in the 'Island. Also last year, many people from all over the world arrived in Riola Sardo. Entrance will be free and free. To participate you do not need any reservation. The Sulas family will be present to explain everything that is produced by this plant, from essential oil to honey, from cosmetics to soaps. Last year the camp hosted around 3 thousand people. A success that increases year after year thanks also to social media where photos of that enormous purple expanse are posted. But not only. On July 6th, in the late afternoon, there will be a “Pasta & Lavender” Workshop curated by Vittoria Arimani. From 6.30pm to 9.30pm "Calici al sunset" is scheduled, an aperitif in the lavender field with musical accompaniment by a saxophonist, on the evening of July 7th there will be the presentation of the book "Wild figs and fennel" by Letitia Ann Clark .
