"Grifone 2026" activities have begun in Tortolì, the international, joint, and interagency exercise organized by the Italian Air Force with ground operations coordinated jointly by the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps and the National Fire Brigade.
The exercise will conclude on May 29. The exercise represents the most important SAR (Search and Rescue) activity organized annually by the Air Force and is aimed at strengthening the planning, coordination, and conduct of complex search and rescue operations in mountainous and rugged environments.
«During the week – we read in a note – the crews and personnel involved will operate in highly realistic scenarios, aimed at consolidating the integration between the various operational components and improving the effectiveness of the intervention in complex contexts».
