Reduction of waiting lists, oncological screenings and clinics: here is the plan of the Cagliari Local Health Authority for the next three years

The reduction of waiting lists, the increase in participation in oncological screenings and the strengthening of family counseling centers to support women during motherhood. These are the salient points of the three-year health plan presented by the Cagliari Local Health Authority for the period 2024-2026 . The program was illustrated to all the mayors of the province by the general director Marcello Tidore , in the presence of the health director Roberto Massazza, the administrative director Gianluca Calabrò and the manager Donatella Garau.
«The strategic directions of the three-year plan», explained Tidore, «tend to simplify citizens' access to healthcare services with the provision of services in a single physical structure, the Cittadella della Salute ». In detail, in addition to the points already mentioned, we are thinking of the qualification of the only public rehabilitation center at Poetto (in via Ausonia) and the reactivation of sports medicine, the women's center and radiology at Binaghi. Furthermore, the clinics will be equipped with thirty new ultrasound machines , already assigned, and will make use of new gynecologists and health assistants hired.
«In the metropolitan area», added the manager of ASL n.8, «the activation of the pediatric sampling center at the Microcitemico hospital and the redevelopment of the emergency room of the Santissima Trinità hospital, of the of diagnostic imaging. We have planned the reorganization of Child Neuropsychiatry in all company districts and the strengthening of Binaghi Diabetology, with the activation of a Diabetology in the Quartu-Parteolla and Serd districts."
Not only Cagliari, but also other territories of the province involved in the plan: «For the Isili hospital », added Marcello Tidore, «a loan of 1 million and 650 thousand euros has been allocated for the emergency room, the creation of areas of stay of patients awaiting diagnosis and the redevelopment of the Radiology department. Over a million euros instead is destined for the San Marcellino di Muravera garrison, for which the Hifu, a very high-tech machine (there are only 4 in the whole of Italy), for the treatment of neoplastic pathologies, is already in the process of being acquired. Finally», he concludes, «we are working with Areus for the activation of the illuminated helipads in Isili and Muravera and developing a program for the modernization of healthcare technologies throughout the territory».
