Carabinieri from the Gesturi station have reported a 42-year-old resident of Sanluri, already known to law enforcement, at large for the crimes of drunk driving, resisting arrest, assault, and threatening a public official.
The intervention was triggered by a call to 112, reporting a Mercedes making dangerous maneuvers near a residential area, repeatedly crossing into the oncoming lane and endangering the safety of other road users. Officers were able to intercept the vehicle near the driver's home and proceeded to carry out checks. From the first moments, the man appeared to be clearly mentally and physically impaired.

When asked to undergo the necessary tests to determine his blood alcohol level, the 42-year-old flatly refused, suddenly going into a rage. The man's behavior then escalated into aggressive and threatening behavior toward the officers, who were shoved.
Once the situation was brought back under control, the man was taken to the local police station, where the Carabinieri immediately withdrew his driving license and administratively seized the vehicle, with the aim of subsequently confiscating it, and reporting the incident to the judicial authorities.
