Rally Italia Sardegna, accident and driver in hospital: Ogier remains in the lead

Like yesterday, today too, at the end of the second stage, the French Ogier-Landais (Toyota Yaris Gr Rally, in 2h32'38”9) are in command of the Rally Italia Sardegna , sixth round of the Wrc World Championship. Second, at 11”1, are the Estonians Tänak-Järveoja (Hyundai i20 N Rally1), ahead of the two Toyotas of Rovanpera (at 55”5) and Evans (at 4'33”3). First of the Italians, in 13th place overall, are Daprà-Guglielmetti (Skoda Fabia Rs, at 8'19”2).
Complicated day for some Sardinian crews, in particular for Davide Biancu and Giovanni Mazzone, who went off the road on the second pass on the Monte Lerno-Filigosu 2 held in the late afternoon today. The driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance for checks, the navigator is fine.
The oil pan failure of the Peugeot 208 Rally4, forced Valentino Ledda and Claudio Mele to retire on the Erula-Tula, but they could restart tomorrow with the super rally. First of the Sardinians, in 28th position, Giuseppe Dettori and Carlo Pisano on the Skoda Fabia Evo (at 21'21”1). Marrone-Fresu in 41st place, Mara-Cottu in 49th and Corsa-Frau in 53rd. Out Tali-Cefis and Biolghini-Pudda.
Tomorrow is the final day with two passages on the San Giacomo-Plebi (25.19 km, 7.25 and 10.50) and on the power stage Porto San Paolo (13.78 km, 8.35 and 13.15, live on TV) to be repeated twice. At 4 pm the race will end with the awards ceremony at Isola Bianca in Olbia.
