The time to rejoice in the positive effects of the lack of water restrictions has already run out. The rationing plan prepared by Abbanoa for the towns served by the Bidighinzu aqueduct has resumed, and on Thursday, closures will resume in the towns of Ittiri, Ossi, Sorso, Sennori, Usini, and Uri.
While awaiting the positive results of the latest rainfall on the reservoirs in northwestern Sardinia (Temo, Cuga, and Bidighinzu), restrictions will need to be reinstated next Thursday due to the ongoing drought.
Last weekend, as requested by the mayors, restrictions were lifted in Ittiri, Ossi, Tissi, Sorso, Sennori, Usini, and Uri to compensate for the closures caused by a sudden, since-repaired, fault on the Bidighinzu aqueduct.
Starting Thursday, the closures will resume every other day for 24 hours in municipalities with odd-numbered closures (first day, Thursday the 27th); Sorso and Ossi from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM the following day; Thiesi and Usini from 5:00 PM to 5:00 PM the following day. In municipalities with even-numbered closures (first day, Friday the 28th), the closures will resume in Sennori and Ittiri from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM the following day; and Uri from 5:00 PM to 5:00 PM the following day. In Tissi, the closures have been temporarily suspended because specific leak detection activities are underway.
