They were stranded on a small patch of land , facing an increasingly deep and difficult-to-cross lake. There were moments of fear today in Oliena , near the SP 46, where specialized firefighter teams rescued three horses , left almost submerged by the water and at the mercy of the storm. The animals, visibly disoriented and frightened, were reached by rescuers who, with great patience and skill, harnessed them and guided them across the water, managing to bring them to safety .

Since yesterday morning, the Nuoro Provincial Fire Brigade has carried out approximately 130 operations in the Nuoro area, primarily related to severe weather and hydrogeological risks. Today, as well as yesterday and overnight, 48 units are operating throughout the area , with the specialized sector for combating water hazards being strengthened. This work also includes an operation carried out late yesterday evening in Urzulei, where two shepherds were rescued inside a sheepfold after being stranded by a sudden river surge.

In the Villagrande countryside, in the Lepòri area, another river team checked on the condition of a shepherd who had not reported since yesterday: the man was reached by the firefighters and was found to be in good condition. There were also several problems in Oliena , where Via Melis was closed to traffic as a precaution due to a static subsidence of a house. A specialized river team is currently engaged in another rescue operation involving a horse in the Torpè countryside , in the Ussela area. The situation is being constantly monitored thanks to the permanent Rescue Coordination Center , coordinated by the Prefect of Nuoro, which involves all state, regional, and provincial agencies, as well as the mayors of the area.
