Rete Ferroviaria Italiana has awarded the tender relating to the works for speeding up the San Gavino – Sassari – Olbia line with the Bauladu variant to the Manelli Impresa company.

The tender has a value of over 82 million euros, also financed with the Development and Cohesion Fund.

The project, recalls RFI, consists in the construction of a new railway line in a variant at Bauladu with a length of approximately 8.5 kilometres, of which 3.8 in a natural tunnel, and represents the first stage for speeding up the San Gavino line - Sassari – Olbia, thanks to the increase in top speed up to 160 km/h.
