The failure to renew the contract, inadequate resources and wage levels too low for the cost of living are some of the reasons why, on Friday 8 November, local public transport workers in Sardinia will also join a national strike.

Added to the national demands are the critical issues of the sector on the Island, as the regional secretary of Fit Cisl, Alessandro Russu, explains: «For the third time in a few months we are forced to strike, to demand dignity for the sector», underlines the unionist . «For years, even in Sardinia, we have been waiting for a reform of local public transport, adequate and certain resources, the possibility of reconciling life and work times. In addition, we now register attacks on staff on a daily basis and we are still waiting for the safety protocol signed with the Ministries of the Interior and Transport to become operational in all the provinces».

For Fit Cisl, the resources in the 2025 budget maneuver "are absolutely insufficient, they are not even enough to reopen the discussion table . On November 8, 100,000 workers will stop and we too, from Sardinia, will be in Rome, in front of the MIT, to demand dignity and rights for a sector that has been abandoned by politics for too long".
