«More than half of the people are standing, crammed into the corridors and between the carriages, without air conditioning, in stifling temperatures and cramped spaces».

Passenger Davide Shakerin reports on a "normal" commuter's day: "Today," he writes, "hundreds of passengers are traveling in unacceptable conditions on regional train 21225 bound for Cagliari."

"We're talking about students, workers, the elderly, tourists," he lists, " all forced to endure a service every day that's light years away from what a European region should be providing in 2025. Those who can afford it take the car, those who can't are condemned to this daily inconvenience."

Hence the inevitable question: "Is this the public transport Sardinia deserves?" "This is not an isolated case," he added, "but a frequent situation, which worsens during rush hour. We urgently need serious intervention to increase the number of carriages and seats, perform effective maintenance on air conditioning systems, and schedule trains based on actual passenger flows ."

"The right to mobility cannot be a privilege," he concludes. "We demand respect. We demand a dignified service. Now."
