On the evening of Saturday 20 July, a doctor from Brotzu, in Cagliari, was verbally attacked and threatened by the family members of a patient hospitalized in the emergency medicine department. This was reported in a note by Emanuele Cabras of the Cimo-Fesmed company secretariat.

«Upon their arrival at the ward, they immediately lashed out at the colleague on duty, who was then hit with a series of insults ("we'll wait for her downstairs to beat her up"), regardless of the presence of other patients», says the trade unionist.

The scrub representative adds: "We cannot accept or justify these acts of violence against doctors or nurses, men and women who guarantee the survival of this battered national health service with their commitment, professionalism and sacrifice."

All our solidarity and affection goes to the doctor «victim of this violence, who has already returned to work early so as not to leave her guard shifts uncovered. We hope that Arnas Brotzu will work to ensure that this attack against one of its employees is stigmatized and punished."
