" The rebirth of man and nature at the WWF Oasis of the Deer and the Moon " is the title of the meeting scheduled for Friday 13 September, starting at 10 am, at the headquarters of the Fondazione di Sardegna in via San Salvatore da Horta in Cagliari .
The initiative, promoted by the Domus de Luna Foundation, will be attended by numerous experts and representatives of environmental protection, the work inclusion of people in fragile conditions and social enterprise initiatives .
During the meeting, moderated by journalist Cristiana Aime, the innovative experience carried out within the WWF Oasis of Cervo e della Luna, located in the Monte Arcosu Reserve, will be presented, and its transformation into a model of sustainable development capable of combining environmental protection with social inclusion, thanks to the agreement between the public and private sectors. This is the synthesis of twenty years of work by Domus de Luna with the protection of nature and environmental education.
Domus de Luna - created to offer hospitality to children, teenagers and mothers who are victims of mistreatment, neglect and abuse - has created over the years four communities, two day centres and a nursing home , in addition to intervening in the prevention of hardship. It has always been concerned with work and autonomy, redemption and independent living.
The WWF Oasis of the Deer and the Moon represents an important example at an international level of how it is possible to combine social innovation, environmental protection and participatory governance. Located within the 3650 hectares of the Monte Arcosu Reserve, an area protected by the WWF for the protection of the Sardinian Deer, the Oasis embodies a true vision of sustainable development that combines environmental protection with social inclusion and a participatory economic and management model.
The meeting with the WWF has generated a new vision of development that enhances the Monte Arcosu Reserve and conserves the environment through the work of people in fragile conditions, promoting respect and love for nature in the new generations through an innovative management formula that will be presented during the conference on Friday.
